
Leslie A. Jones originates from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Following his service in the U.S. Army, he relocated to Los Angeles, CA, where he pursued studies in theater and film at The Wilshire Theater Arts Academy. His debut in theater came in 1991 with the Mojo Ensemble, starring as Moses Blues in Judi Ann Mason's acclaimed play "Indigo Blues". His role playing alto saxophone in the production showcased his talents as a skilled saxophonist, composer, and actor. For his contributions, he was honored with a Los Angeles Weekly Award and the Drama Logue Award for Best Original Music.
In 1993, Jones achieved further acclaim by winning the N.A.A.C.P. Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance as Randall in Matthew Witten's original play "Washington Square Moves". Following this recognition, he appeared in various television sitcoms and episodic shows, gaining notable recognition for his role as Ronnie, the henchman, on Beverly Hills 90210. Jones is also a proficient musician, playing saxophone, flute, percussion, and singing for several bands in Los Angeles, including collaborations with George Gray from The Price is Right in the cover band The Gee's, and his own original bands, Thee Answer Band and The Right-Hand Rule Band.
Since February 2022, Leslie has been a resident performer at Disney California Adventure Park with The "Midnight Hour" band. His music is available on all major steaming services as well as through his personal app, 4J Presents, where he hosts a 24-hour radio show. Beyond music, Jones has garnered acclaim in the film industry with his short and feature films featured in numerous film festivals nationwide, including notable works like Get Nipsey, Fighting Olympus, and Cafe' in the Void. Currently, Leslie A. Jones is actively involved in acting and production for the western series Dark Country, showcasing his ongoing commitment to advancing his craft and contributing to the entertainment industry.
